Not only in the pet industry but when marketing in any industry, AI is a huge focus in the future of business. Some think it’s the only way to stay current as technology is advancing our capabilities as marketers, and they see the value in finding new ways to create content and gain insight as we step into the future. Others believe it is going to lead to the destruction of truly personalized marketing for businesses and the removal of the human touch that keeps brands relatable to their customers.
I believe that if used correctly and ethically AI can help brands grow and will be considered an extra tool in marketer’s toolbelts.

What can AI do for you and your business?
AI can completely change the way businesses communicate with their customers by making interactions more personalized, efficient, and insightful. AI makes targeted marketing possible on a scale that has never been seen before. Messages and deals can be tailored to each person’s tastes, which can greatly increase customer engagement and happiness. AI helps marketers find trends and patterns rapidly by quickly studying huge amounts of data. It can also help us strategize around KPIs that drive success in our specific industry. This gives them insights that help them make better decisions and come up with better strategies. AI also simplifies regular tasks like answering customer questions and sharing content, which frees up people to plan strategically and think creatively.
So, what are the downsides to using AI?
The use of AI in marketing does come with some difficulties and moral questions, though. People are most worried about their privacy because AI tools that collect and analyze a lot of data about people may seem intrusive, which brings up questions about data security and buyer consent. It’s possible that relying too much on AI could also mean less human touch in marketing, as computers might not be able to understand complex situations as well or understand how people feel. Another problem is bias. AI systems can unintentionally reinforce biases that are already present in the data they are taught, which can lead to bad marketing choices and plans. Concerns about job loss in the marketing field are raised by AI’s ability to automate chores, which means that people need to learn more tech-related skills. Lastly, relying too much on AI could stop people from coming up with new ideas and thinking critically, leaving companies open to mistakes in AI predictions or technology failures.

How will marketers find the balance of AI use in the future?
Finding a balance between the pros and cons of using AI in marketing will take a careful and moral approach. Marketers need to make sure that privacy is protected, biases are dealt with, and there is a balance between technology and the human part that can’t be replaced. As AI keeps getting better, using it responsibly in marketing will require constant attention, thought about what is right and wrong, and a dedication to combining AI’s strengths with human imagination and intelligence.
“Through the ethical use of AI, we can span new horizons in all industries, so why not find ways that we can grow with technology to better our brands in the future?”
